Looking for some bonding time with your dad? Why not plan a picnic and spend some quality time with him. For a picnic, you would need to fill up a basket of yummy snacks that are light yet deliciously filling. Fear not, we have got just the dish for you. This week, You! collaborates with Kausar Ahmed, Founder and CEO of Kitchen Crafts, to bring to you the recipe of Gyro Chicken Wrap.

Ingredients

Chicken breast fillets (cut into thin strips) ½ kg (boneless)

Pita breads 2-3

Marinade

Garlic cloves (minced) 3 tsp

White vinegar 3 tsp

Lemon juice 3 tbsp

Olive oil 1tbsp

Yogurt 3 tbsp

Dried oregano 1½ tbsp

Red chilli flakes ½ tsp

Cumin powder ½ tsp

Salt 1 tsp

Black pepper ½ tsp

Yogurt dressing

Plain yogurt 1 cup

Vinegar 1 tsp

Lemon juice 1tbsp

Olive oil 1tbsp

Garlic clove (minced) 1

Salt ½ tsp

Cumin powder ½ tsp

Black pepper ½ tsp

Salad

Tomatoes (thinly sliced) 3

Cucumbers (thinly diced) 3

Onion (sliced) ½

Method

  • For Yogurt dressing, place yogurt in a bowl.
  • Add remaining ingredients then mix to combine. Set aside for at least 20 minutes for the flavours to combine.
  • Marinate chicken with all the ingredients for 30 minutes
  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan over medium high heat.
  • Add the chicken with the marinade and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken onto a plate. and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Assemble Gyros

  • Place pita bread on a chopping board or plate.
  • Place some chicken down the middle of the bread
  • Top with salad and yogurt dressing.
  • Roll the wrap up and serve.
