DC Comics, the official home of superheroes, wishes Muslims joy and blessings in Ramadan

A day before Muslims across the world started fasting after new moon sighting, DC Comics, the publishers of books featuring Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and other superheros, wished joy and blessing to its fans on its official Twitter account.

"Ramadan Mubarak! Wishing you joy and blessings this month," The DCComis wrote on Twitter with a picture of a superhero.

Muslims all over the world fast during the days of this month and make special prayers at night.

The month of Ramadan traditionally begins with a new moon sighting, marking the start of the ninth month in the Islamic calendar.

During this period, Muslims keep fast abstain from food, drink, and other certain activities during daylight hours.

Ramadan ends when the first crescent of the new moon is sighted again. Eid-ul- Fitr is the Islamic holiday that marks the end of Ramadan.
