PM wants exporters to push country s export to Rs100 bln

LAHORE: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Sunday stressed upon the exporters to increase the country’s exports to at least Rs 100 billion as the country had immense potential to compete in the global markets.

He said the government had already met the demands set by the investors and exporters and now, it was up to the latter community to enhance export’s digits.

Addressing the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) achievement award ceremony, the prime minister said three months'' exports incentives announced by the government, were now paying dividends and hinted that its period could be further enhanced to three years.

“The government met whatever the exporters had demanded.

Now, it is up to them to come forward and play their role for increasing exports digits to Rs 40 billion or Rs 100 billion,” he added.

He called upon the exporters delegations to apprise the government about the steps they would be taking to push the country’s exports.
